On 15 June 2010, we held a panel discussion at our Member Forum to discuss flate rates for communication services.
Business users often like the idea, because these fixed rates for all or some services are both simple and useful in managing ICT costs. But no solution is completely problem-free. Before taking any decision, you should know how flat rates work and their real impact, as well as their disadvantages. What should your company consider before engaging in a flat rate agreement? What are the limitations and restrictions from the point of view of the provider? BELTUG has already published a position paper on the introduction of flat rates (French, Dutch), which explains the effects of the flat rate model for both business users and providers, and considers the various issues involved. Now, you can also view a video summary from the panel discussion.
