New web site to help consumers choose cheapest rates

Minister Van Quickenborne yesterday launched a new web site called www.bestetarief.be - www.meilleurtarif.be. Via this web site, the consumer can check free of charge what fixed-line and mobile telephone and internet service provider offers the cheapest rates, in accordance with his/her user profile and consumption needs. Tests revealed that up to 25% could be saved (even more than half with a cheaper internet subscription). The website is updated constantly and easy to use. Today, it contains 40 fixed-line telephone rate plans of nine operators and 180 rate plans for mobile telephony from 13 operators and resellers, as well as 66 broadband rate plans from 16 ISPs.
