BELTUG seeks volunteers to participate in a Proof of Concept for a mobile data alerter for BlackBerry
BELTUG X-Changes on mobile data demonstrated that companies fear a bill shock when using mobile data. Blackberry/RIM got the message and asked a partner to develop an application that informs both employees and IT departments in real time about their mobile data usage.
BELTUG and Blackberry/RIM are now looking for a few companies with national and/or international mobile data usage to test the new concept. This opportunity is exclusively for our ICT Decision Makers (users).
If you are interested in being a candidate for the Proof of Concept, please send us an email. What would we expect from you as a participant? - 26 May, 10 AM: be at the kick-off meeting (location to be confirmed) – presentation of the test
- July – August: test the application with some of your users
- September: be at the final meeting to gather your feedback + evaluation of the results
So let us know if you could be interested in an application that: • monitors and counts incoming and outgoing data packages • displays (roaming) network status • indicates in real time your daily and monthly data quota and consumption (in Kb) • shows active applications that are consuming mobile data (e.g. Google maps).
Practicalities
• Easy downloading of the application via a weblink. • Free use of the application • RIM and its partner will be available for any questions and support We thank our members for their contribution.
