Mobile communication becoming more important
The mobile business communications market in Belgium is dominated by two players: Belgacom/Proximus and Mobistar, whose offerings are very similar – an unhealthy situation according to Danielle Jacobs, director BELTUG. She quotes as an example Spain and Portugal who decided to abolish roaming charges between them and would gladly see the same for Belgium and its neighbouring countries. Unfortunately, neither Proximus nor Mobistar would consider a similar opportunity with Luxembourg! The above-mentioned survey also revealed that more than half of the interviewees lack a mobile policy while others are much more sophisticated and no longer consider mobile phones as utility devices but value the applicative level, business intelligence with different levels supported by tablet.
