Results of the BELTUG survey on fixed-to-mobile
Since January 2011 and August 2010 fixed telecom operators are benefiting from lowered mobile termination rates, as imposed by the BIPT. BELTUG gathered the information of some fifty big and medium-sized enterprises and found that only half of them benefit from lower prices for their fixed-to-mobile calls. Danielle Jacobs concludes in an Opinion in Datanews that a lot of customers do not benefit from this reduction. Whoever is not on guard and assertive risks to pay too much. Moreover, the BIPT had abolished set-up costs in February 2008 but three years later one third of the respondents still pay set-up costs. Have you already been notified by your operator of your cost reduction? Or did you take contact to ask for lower prices? We hear from our members that it's worth the effort. Have a look at the BELTUG recommandations to negotiate a price reduction: BELTUG will continue to monitor possible problems and solutions. We thank the companies that gave us their input. |
