BELTUG gives new BIPT management the benefit of the doubt
During an appearance at Z-Talk Goossens on Kanaal Z, Danielle Jacobs, director BELTUG and new president of INTUG, criticised the lack of competition in the Belgian telecoms market, even after more than a decade after its liberalisation. She expects that the predominance of the former monopolist will increase even more because of the growing complexity of telecoms technology. Since regulator BIPT became more independent, Jacobs gives the new management – a year and a half after it was nominated – the benefit of the doubt to carry out the necessary drastic changes. She even considers the mapping of all bottlenecks hampering fair competition a positive approach.
