BELTUG consultation on renewing outsourcing contract + summary

One of our members has an outsourcing contract that finishes at the end of this year. Our member is interested in evaluating the alternatives: extending the contract, insourcing or outsourcing.

The contract covers management of the company’s complete IT environment, including the physical and virtual servers (AD, Exchange, Lync, MS CRM, Dynamics AX, SCCM, etc.), laptops, (W)LAN, service desk and local support, internet access, VPN, etc. There are about 600 users of the environment, at three sites in Belgium and five abroad: in France, the Netherlands, the U.S. and China. Almost all of the management is now handled by a single party.

We would appreciate hearing from you if you have had experiences with outsourcing, or can recommend outsourcing suppliers. We would also like to receive recommendations on whether it is best to split the contract between several parties, or keep it all with one party.
