Pictures X-Change on Smooth migration to IP, May 2010
BELTUG continues to receive questions from members about how to migrate from a current PBX to a full VoIP/IPtel world. However, the business units’ requirements demand that ICT managers deliver functionalities which cannot be achieved unless extra IP systems are built to cooperate with the current PBX. Hybrid systems, together with a clear migration path towards the full IP world, have been identified as a valid strategy: spreading investments and change efforts over time. How can you achieve a smooth migration? How can you avoid lock-in? Even the connection to the telecom operator has to be reengineered: is it time to go for SIP trunking, or is it still too soon?
BELTUG organised an interactive session at the offices of Colt, with 3 cases plus a more analytical approach from an integrator.
The following companies enrolled: Agfa HealthCare, Banque Degroof, B-Bridge, BNP Paribas Fortis, Carrefour Belgium, Coface Services, Defensie, Enterprise Ireland, European Commission, HP België / Belgique, ING, KBC Global Services, Kodak, NeXTel, Nyrstar, Provincie Vlaams-Brabant, Rainbow ICT Services, S.C.R.-Sibelco, SITA Recycling Services, Smals, Toerisme Vlaanderen, USG People Belgium, Van Amheyde, Vanheede Environment Group, Vlaams Ministerie van Bestuurszaken-Afdeling Facilitair Management.
