Pictures BELTUG City trip to Ghent, 11 September 2010
The guided city tour with lunch in Ghent was a great success with more than 100 participants. With lots of informal contact, members became acquainted with each other in an environment outside of professional meetings. We started in the morning – after a pleasant welcome coffee – with a nice, 2-hour stroll through the city centre. Along the way, we have been sampling some local taste-stimulating specialities, and around noon, we have been taking lunch with the whole group – another occasion to meet friends and acquaintances. Next, we continued our visit to Ghent by taking the boat to a most picturesque neighbourhood: the Prinsenhof. Stories and historical anecdotes abound with this neighbourhood and several inside views of some prominent buildings there. Finally, all groups have been meeting in the Augustine Monastery to discover Augustijntje – after which our day trip ended.
