Join us for a unique opportunity to engage directly with Manuel Mateo Goyet, Head of Unit Cloud and Software at DG CONNECT within the European Commission. Hear the Commission’s perspective, raise your questions, and gain insight into how Europe’s digital sovereignty ambitions are taking shape.

We will then move from policy to action, looking at what organisations can already do today and drawing on real-world tendering cases and recent legal developments. You will leave with practical guidance for procurement decisions now, while helping you prepare for the changes ahead.

Beltug’s Corporate Basic and Corporate Premium Memberships allow you to pass on this invitation to your colleagues. We think this session might interest: legal, procurement, architects, CIOs, and governance professionals. Unsure about your membership? Check out your My Beltug page.

Following a brief introduction on key initiatives such as the EU Tech Pack and CADA, you will hear about the proposed approach and potential impact of CADA on public tendering, and how the public sector could act as a lever for Europe’s broader digital sovereignty ambitions. You will have the opportunity to engage directly with Mr Goyet to ask your questions and share your perspectives.

(in English) Digital sovereignty in practice: navigating technology sourcing and public procurement

How can you stay in control of your digital choices while navigating Europe’s growing focus on digital sovereignty? In this practical session, you will explore the procurement tools available today, from technical specifications and selection criteria to contractual safeguards and supply-chain requirements. And you will discover measures to help address cyber security, geopolitical and dependency risks. You will also explore what NIS2 and the access of non-EU suppliers to public procurement markets mean for your sourcing and procurement strategies. Looking ahead, you will gain insight into CADA, its potential impact and the legislative process to come. Real-world cases will show how these issues are already being approached in practice.

Kristof De Vulder, Country Managing Partner (Technology Law), Bob Martens, Partner (Public Law), Andi Zrza, Senior Lead Lawyer (Public Law), and Laetitia Mouton, Lead Lawyer (Technology Law), DLA Piper.
