Managing vendor relationships and keeping them safe (X-change, users only)

Location:Hotel Abbey, Grimbergen

More and more aspects of the IT environment are being outsourced to third parties. While this approach offers many benefits, managing your relationship with the vendor becomes increasingly critical. What should the contract look like/include? What is the ‘real’ difference between a ‘supplier’ or a ‘partner’? How can you be sure your technological development matches up with the vendor’s? How can you require the vendor to use the same level of security as your company? And what about SLAs, follow-up, etc?

At this X-change, we’ll hear from  Wouter Machiels of Agfa about the company's approach to vendor management. Then, following an introduction by Pierre Verbraeken of Barry Callebaut, we will engage in an interactive roundtable on vendor management and IT security.

Is there someone else in your company who would be interested in this invitation? Feel free to pass it on to your colleagues.

Please note that in order to guarantee an interactive discussion, we are keeping the number of attendees limited, so be sure to book your spot in time.

14:15 Driving value through vendor management

Vendor management is a relatively new discipline that is quite different from old-school procurement.  Historically the focus has been on cost reduction. But vendor management, when applied correctly, extends this to value generation. Wouter Machiels shares the best practices he has developed over his many years of experience.

15:15 A Third-party vendor information security policy: where’s the liability?

Following the recent cyber-attacks, Barry Callebaut has made extra efforts to secure its IT environment. Pierre Verbraeken will explain the company’s "Third Party Vendor Information Security Policy", which aims to request that external partners ensure at least the same preventive security measures as those Barry Callebaut has implemented for its own users. He will introduce the topic for the interactive roundtable, where you can discover other companies' best practices in areas such as user lifecycle management, anti-virus protection, security and OS patching requirements, USB usage, etc.
