14:15 Shadow IT
For many years Shadow IT has been ‘the ugly duckling’, but despite several attempts to eliminate it, studies show that it continues to be ‘on the rise’. A recent report indicated that nearly 80% of employees use such unsupported software in their organizations.
While Shadow IT has the potential to expose an enterprise to significant risk, it can also drive disruption and transformation. Koen De Maere will focus on the latter, explaining that organizations should look at Shadow IT as ‘unexplored business needs’. He’ll challenge us to rethink our governance approach, with a focus on the identification of these business needs and agile support.
Koen De Maere, Information Manager at BASF and Researcher ‘Digital Business and IT’ at University of Antwerp, Antwerp Management School (English)
