'Walk the Walk': Let's discover Tournai/Doornik, old and new, with you and your partner!

Location:Doornik - Tournai

Beltug members and personally invited contacts only

Tournai/Doornik holds plenty of surprises! Join us, with your partner, as we follow the guide, and discover the city!

Each year, Beltug goes ‘all out’ to organise an enjoyable activity that gives you and your partner the opportunity to get acquainted with other Beltug members in a unique, relaxing environment. This year we are pleased to invite you to discover the historic city and sites of Tournai - on foot - Saturday
14 September 2019.

Tournai, in Wallonia, is one of the oldest cities in Belgium. The fairly compact historic centre includes beautiful remains from the old city.

We’ll meet at the 'Les Fours à Chaux', located five kilometres from the city centre: a site surrounded by green areas and old quarries reclaimed by nature.

The old lime kilns are monumental constructions that mark the memory and history of the Tournai region. On the banks of the Scheldt, these remains, now covered with vegetation, are full of grandeur and poetry, despite the bite of time.

Then we’ll make our way into Tournai along the towpath, and discover the city.

-- Please make sure to register before 31 August! --

*Keep in mind that we will be walking on many paving stones, so wear comfortable shoes!

Meet at:

Les Fours à Chaux, Rue de Calonne, Chercq (Tournai)
