Scoring points with data through quality and governance (N-sight)

Location:virtual meeting

During the last decade, the hunt for data has only increased. And the rise of technologies like artificial intelligence and IoT are facilitating that hunt. But collecting information is only one part of the challenge. Because in the end, data isn’t worth a thing without quality and governance. So how do you shift focus from simply ‘collecting data’ to ‘collecting data that creates value’?

Let's zoom in on these challenges, starting with an explanation from AE on how and why to build data quality into digital development processes. Then, we’ll hear the real-life user story of the Colruyt Group’s unique approach to creating added value from its data.

This event will be held as an interactive virtual meeting. The link will be provided in the Confirmation email.

13:30 Welcome and introduction

Ann Guinée, Communication Manager, Beltug (English)

13:40 The 'shift left' movement in data quality

Data quality is an essential element in developing digital services; it’s vital for realising reliable reports and insights, for example. Yet when developing these services, apps, etc, data quality is often viewed as a side issue; an afterthought. To get maximum value from our data – which we need to truly digitise – we have to set quality standards from the start, right from the development or implementation process. As with other quality issues, we need to initiate a 'shift left' movement around data quality. Because in a digital world, data is our product.
