BELTUG brainstorming SIP Trunking - 16 March 2010 - Presentations

Date:16/03/2010

BELTUG members have a lot of concerns about the Belgacom announcement on the planned phase-out of leased lines, ISDN,… in 2015. Obviously there is a strong link with SIP-trunking.

BELTUG organized a brainstorming. It was our intention to bring together some people from business users, telco’s, PBX suppliers, …. to  identify the most important issues we need to work on.

The presentations are available at the bottom of this page for our members (just log in).

Some of the many questions:
-Migrating only the access from multiple ISDN-PRA to 1 IP-trunk will never save costs, so which (access) costs have to be really involved ?
-Contractual issues:  contracts signed with Belgacom, expanding beyond 2015…
-Regulatory issues
-The access to the emergency services
-Security issues
-Certification of suppliers?
-What kind of information we need from Belgacom to inform our members?

Based on the results of this meeting we will prepare an action plan.
