A new, EU-wide roaming regulation enters into force in all Member States on 1 July 2009. BELTUG lists the changes for you:
Voice - new Eurotariff reductions
Outgoing calls: The price for making calls will be max. 43 cents/minute (currently 46 cents*).
Incoming calls: The price for receiving calls will be max. 19 cents (currently 22 cents per minute*).
When making calls, consumers will benefit from per-second billing after 30 seconds; and when receiving calls abroad, billing will be per-second throughout.
Euro-SMS Tariff introduced
As of 1 July 2009, the maximum price to send an SMS while abroad in the EU is 11 cents*. Receiving an SMS while in another EU country will remain free of charge.
Wholesale data roaming caps
Wholesale data roaming fees (between operators): €1 per megabyte*.
Improved transparency: customers travelling to another Member State should receive an automated message of the charges that apply for data roaming services.
