Over the past weeks, INTUG has had three meeting with the GSMA, an organisation that represents the interests of mobile operators across 220 countries worldwide. It unites nearly 800 of the world’s mobile operators with 250 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, making it an important counterpart for discussing INTUG’s issues.
GSMA was invited to the INTUG stakeholders meeting in Brussels to present its priorities, while INTUG was invited to an EU-level meeting on 4G aimed at presenting the opportunities for businesses from fast mobile networks.
Special attention was given to INTUG’s demand for a solution to change mobile operator without physically changing SIM card, especially for M2M communications. The GSMA informed INTUG about the possibilities of embedded SIM cards. INTUG will analyse this prospect to define its position.
