Reforming the Privacy Commission is a priority for the Belgian government, which needs to be ready when the new EU GDPR enters into force in May 2018. On June 2, Philippe De Backer invited the Privacy Platform, of which BELTUG is a member, to a discussion at his office. The Privacy Platform also counts as members representatives of associations like Febelfin, Comeos, Agoria, Testaankoop, VBO/FEB, Unizo and more.
It is very clear there are still many question on the implementation of the GDPR, which is expected to have a big impact on organisations. BELTUG wants to work with members to find answers to the shared questions of companies, especially regarding preparing for the IT implementation. This includes working with law firm Allen & Overy to create a checklist for our members with practical, concrete steps. This first part of the checklist is available for our members.
Our efforts are ongoing, so we invite you to send questions that arise as you prepare your implementation, and we will look into the answers.
