On October 18, the Belgian Senate organised a colloquium on the impact of new technologies on privacy and data protection. Academics, politicians and business representatives gathered to discuss the topic.
Representing the interests of the business users was speaker Danielle Jacobs, BELTUG's General Manager. To a full and attentive audience, she highlighted the importance of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its impact on day-to-day business. Among her topics was BELTUG’s pragmatic approach to clarifying the regulation, in close cooperation with the Belgian Privacy Commission.
