Beltug calls for simpler reporting with the Digital Omnibus SEP

The Digital Omnibus is a first step toward simplifying Europe’s fragmented digital regulatory landscape, addressing long‑standing concerns about the complexity of incident reporting. Its proposed Single Entry Point (SEP) aims to simplify the situation by addressing two key challenges: cross-border duplication and overlapping obligations under multiple legislative frameworks. Beltug is actively participating in the conversation, by drafting a position that highlights the real feedback of business users on the proposed SEP.

Apr 2026 Beltug - Infographic Security by Design & SEP position

At the request of the Belgian Data Protection Authority (DPA) and the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB), Beltug gathered feedback from our members on the proposed Digital Omnibus SEP. This position translates that real-world experience into concrete recommendations to reduce the complexity of incident reporting for the business users, and brings the challenges directly to the attention of policy makers.

You can download the full position above to explore the findings and recommendations in detail. And check out the explanatory infographic, viewable to the right and downloadable above.

Increased regulation, increased reporting complexity

Increasing regulation has intensified the burden of reporting requirements on organisations, which must report incidents to both multiple authorities (DPA, NBB, FSMA, CCB and BIPT) and according to multiple frameworks (NIS2, GDPR and DORA). The situation is even more complex for international organisations. Beltug’s position highlights these challenges and advocates for a more coherent and workable reporting framework.
