New EU rules on digital technology that will impact business users

New EU rules on digital technology will have an impact on your operational options, responsibilities and liabilities. To avoid unpleasant surprises, you need to get ready. Beltug and our Dutch sister association CIO Platform Nederland have put together a paper outlining the developments of 10 of the legislative acts and legislative updates that are most relevant to business users of digital technology.

  • New rules that will impact business users of digital technologies, by CIOPlatform Netherlands, with Beltug Addenda

From 2021 to 2023, the EU introduced multiple new pieces of legislation to regulate digital technology, and proposed updates on other pieces of legislation. It’s important to make sure your organisation, and especially your legal and compliance colleagues, take note and prepare.

The paper provides an overview on the current status of:

  1. Data Act
  2. Data Governance Act (DGA)
  3. Digital Markets Act (DMA)
  4. Digital Service Act (DSA)
  5. Cybersecurity Act (CSA)
  6. NIS2 Directive
  7. Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA)
  8. Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)
  9. Product Liability Directive (PLD)
  10. AI Liability Directive (AILD)

This paper goes hand-in-hand with the manifesto ‘A Perspective on tomorrow’s digital world’ drafted by the four sister organisations (Beltug, CIO Platform Nederland, plus Cigref in France and Voice in Germany). It details four key priorities that our members believe must be taken into account during the next European mandate to foster the development of our collective ambition to build a sustainable, responsible and trusted digital economy.

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • cyber security
  • data governance
  • international
