AI Day: Making AI deliver, from promise to practice

Beltug once again brought peers together for a full AI Day dedicated to practical integration of Artificial Intelligence. This year’s programme focused on the realities of deploying AI in complex environments, including agentic AI, LLM integration, organisational readiness and governance and trust.

Our Priorities Compass (explore the results in FR or NL) showed that Artificial Intelligence is a priority for Beltug members, who are increasingly looking to integrate AI use in their daily practices. Many organisations are actively experimenting and working with AI: piloting use cases and exploring new capabilities.

But whether you are just dipping your toes into the world of AI or are already knee-deep into the possibilities, the challenge remains: how do you move from experimentation to the integration of AI solutions that are robust, secure and fully embedded in your IT and business operations? Addressing this challenge requires clear choices, organisational readiness and strong governance: essential elements to ensuring AI delivers lasting value in a compliant and responsible way.

This AI Day event was split into a morning and an afternoon session.

  • In the morning, we first heard from Orange about what it takes to make agentic AI deliver value. Then Britenet shared its experiences integrating LLMs and GenAI in customers’ production settings. We finished the morning with the real-life user story of how Nipro is using data and AI to transform to a data-driven company.
  • We started the afternoon session with a look into overcoming the gap between AI adoption and value, from AE. Then we heard two user stories: Digitaal Vlaanderen shared the Flemish government’s AI playbook and takeaways, while Mensura revealed its journey to implement AI in a sustainable way.
