Once again, the Beltug Summer Bar delivered an unforgettable experience! The 2024 edition brought together the CIOs of KU Leuven and DPD Nederland and the co-president of Cercle du Numérique to present their visions for their organisations. We also shared the results from our 2024 Priorities Compass, and enjoyed plenty of time to network during the walking dinner.

We kicked off the Summer Bar with a look at the key priorities of Belgian CIOs and ICT decision makers, which help shape our Working Plan for the year ahead. So, what’s leading the agenda this year? Artificial Intelligence remains at the top, while increased focus is being placed on regulatory enforcement and compliance. Cyber security and cloud deployment are also high on the list of concerns.

Then, we were inspired by the real-life stories of Wim Nagels, CIO, DPD Nederland; Leen Van Rentergem, CIO, KU Leuven; and Marc Senterre, VP Global IT, Lhoist, and Co-president, Cercle du Numérique. Each shared their vision for digital transformation across diverse areas – production, logistics, HR, and beyond. Success requires navigating through rapid innovation, making strategic choices, securing Board buy-in, fostering digital expertise, and ensuring compliance with evolving global regulations.
Finally, we enjoyed a tasty Walking Dinner, as we informally discussed plenty of topics with our peers.
