ICT decision-makers and vendor managers must navigate a landscape where operational resilience, cyber security and oversight of third-party risks are mandated, not optional. The challenge lies in ensuring vendors comply — without disrupting critical services or inflating costs. Beyond compliance, fragmented processes and limited visibility into vendor dependencies, especially in areas such as network availability and incident response, can create additional pitfalls.

It is all too easy for organisations to underestimate the effort required to align vendor practices with evolving regulations. But the resulting gaps in risk assessments and reporting can be critical. In our users-only session, we explored practical strategies to overcome the challenges, strengthen governance, and build a vendor management framework that supports resilience and regulatory adherence.
We started with a legal and regulatory overview of IT vendor management from LYDIAN. Then, we heard two real-life user stories. First, Telenet Business shared its own experience aligning Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) with compliance. MPET took us along on its journey towards smart IT sourcing.
