With its fast evolution and growing impact, Belgian CIOs agree: digital has entered the boardroom. Digital is a strategic challenge that affects every organisation and every part of the organisation, which means executive leadership plays a key role. But Board members don’t have to know all of the technical details: they need the information to assess and understand the risks and opportunities. So it’s the responsibility of (mostly) CIOs and CISOs to bring digital to the Board.

In this session, we explored how to bring digital topics to the Board, and bridge the gap between ICT and Board-level decision making. Key themes like digital sovereignty, cyber security, and artificial intelligence are no longer technical topics: they are strategic priorities. We started off with Beltug’s newest tool for our members, the ‘How to bring Information Security to your Board‘ slidedeck. Then Iwona Muchin shared insights on presenting complex digital issues to the Boardroom in a way that elevates digital conversations around the table, to drive understanding, alignment and action at the highest level.
