ESG reporting and sustainable procurement
Sustainability is increasingly important for organisations. ESG reporting (which discloses environmental, social and corporate governance data) provides insight and transparency into the impact of an organisation’s activities on people and the planet, and any sustainability risks and opportunities they are exposed to. Digital and telecoms are no exceptions: from cyber security and privacy, to telecoms networks and ‘green’ datacentres, it is important to consider sustainability and ESG reporting requirements. And since sustainability inherently involves supply chain, procurement is also implicated.

On 5 January 2023 the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) entered into force. This new directive modernises and strengthens the rules about the social and environmental information that companies have to report. It also provides for the digitalisation of sustainability information.
In this session, Deloitte gave us a short intro on the ESG regulatory context, and presented a study on the sustainability of the Belgian telecommunications networks. Then imec shared real-life experiences and learnings from sustainable projects. Finally, Ageas connected it all to digital. We finished up with questions and expertise from the participants.
