Part 1: Your questions about NIS2 and EU security certification
In this session, we focussed on two important security regulations: the NIS2 directive and the Cyber Security Act, which is the framework for EU-wide security certification schemes. The NIS2 Directive has been agreed at the European level, but implementation at the Belgian level is still to come. The directive will harmonise how different European countries implement the NIS1.

Amongst other things, it will oblige more entities and sectors to take measures, thus making us safer. Based on the framework set up by the Cyber Security Act, stakeholders, ENISA and the European Commission are developing three certification schemes. They relate to ICT products, cloud services and cyber security for 5G. Certification schemes for IoT and industrial components will follow.
