What’s the future of the ASTRID radio network?
In moments of crisis, coordination depends on reliable communication. That’s where ASTRID comes in: as Belgium’s national operator of critical communication services, it’s relied upon by police, fire departments and medical teams: indoors as well as outdoors. For some organisations, this means they have an obligation to provide ASTRID coverage in their buildings, which of course comes with a cost. We invited you to learn more about ASTRID and where it was headed, with time to ask your own questions!

In this online session, we heard about ASTRID’s NextGenCom programme and how ASTRID’s technology is moving forward to overcome the challenges of its current infrastructure. As a special ‘plus’ for Beltug members, indoor coverage was included. And everyone had the chance to ask their questions about Belgium’s Critical Communications network.
