Inspiring 2017 VIP Evening breaks Beltug record

The 2017 VIP Evening broke a new record for Beltug, with 350 registrations! The successful evening included an inspiring keynote speech on Artificial Intelligence by Prof. Dr. Johan Albrecht of Ghent University. Security: omni-present and omni-competent? Takeaways from the Beltug X-change, 29 March 2017

Everything needs to be secure, which means, of course, that security is everywhere! With such a big topic, at this X-change we focussed on endpoint protection, data protection and managed security services, with presentations from thought leaders. We also welcomed presenters from CFE and BNP Paribas Fortis, who shared ‘real-life’ experiences.



Privacy issues: GDPR and meetings with Philippe De Backer

Beltug continues to lobby on behalf of our members on privacy issues around the GDPR, including meeting with Secretary of State Philippe De Backer and presenting our GDPR initiatives to the Privacy Platform.



Beltug/INTUG publish Position on ITRE rapporteur's report

ITRE (the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy in the European Parliament) has published its draft rapporteur's report on the EC's European Electronic Communications Code proposal.  The proposed Directive is of significant interest to Beltug, INTUG and their members. Beltug/INTUG have published a Position with comments on ITRE's findings.



No more roaming – make sure to contact your mobile operator!

The European Commission has taken the final decision to eliminate roaming in Europe. You should not have to revise your existing contract(s) to get the benefits. However, there are some exceptions to the use of data and fair use, so we recommend you contact your mobile operator to check on the practical implications.
