Niet-leden kunnen aanpassingen doorgeven via info@beltug.be.

Market studies and market analysis
For an association such as Beltug, which aims, among other things, for the sharing of knowledge and information between members, it is important to know what is going on within the professional environment. This can include problems, challenges, and priorities; strategies for addressing certain business requirements; etc.
Studies and analyses can be performed from various angles: they may look at the sector level, for example, or explore how companies deal with specific legislation, or investigate within a defined framework such as license management, etc.
This sharing is one of the reasons (amongst others) for which members join Beltug. In order to meet this objective, Beltug regularly requests that members participate in market studies. The invitation to cooperate is sent based on our legitimate interest in the context of the objective.
Participation is, of course, completely without obligation. However, obviously the more members that participate, the better the result. The personal data processed here are your identification data, contact information, position, workplace; and the answers to the questions/statements.
In certain cases, we may work with a third-party processor, with whom we have a processing agreement. However, even when one of our business partners contributes to the study initiative, no personal data from the respondents is passed on with them: only aggregated information is ever shared.
All personal data processed in the context of a market research initiative will be deleted within 3 months. No copies will be kept.
Further processing
For all processing that Beltug carries out with the personal data of members, we refer you to the Privacy Policy for members, which you can also read on our website.
Use of cookies
Beltug uses cookies on its website. You can find the information on how we deal with cookies and the associated personal data in our cookie policy.
How do we protect your personal data?
Your privacy is our top priority, which is why we do everything we can to protect your personal data. We have taken all appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against a possible data breach.
Who has access to your personal data?
Internal to Beltug
Within our organisation, only authorised staff members and the persons we designate have access to your personal data. This is limited to those persons who need such access for the correct performance of their function or for the needs of the service.
External to Beltug
No personal data of any website visitors is passed on to third parties, except in the case of legal obligations, or within the context of a complaint defined by you which strictly requires the input or involvement of the third parties.
International
No personal data is passed on to processors in inappropriate countries (e.g., certain countries outside the EU such as the United States) with three exceptions: Beltug uses O365, an application from Microsoft, an American company, for e-mail traffic, among other things. Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) were signed with Microsoft. SparkPost, an American service provider with a Dutch parent (MessageBird), is used for the delivery of mailings and transactional e-mails. Within the same context we use ‘MailPoet’, an American newsletter plugin that determines the layout and content of the mailings, and in which we define the recipients of a mailing.
Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) were also concluded with these partners. Examples of a transactional email include: a confirmation of a membership request, a notification of registration at a Beltug event, a notification after filling in the contact form. For information about the processing of these respective service providers, you can read Sparkpost/MessageBird’s and MailPoet’s privacy policies.
Other
Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties without your prior consent, except in the situations described above. Under no circumstances will it be sold, rented or made available to third parties without your prior consent.
Which are your rights as a data subject?
When you share data with Beltug, you become a data subject, with a number of rights with regard to your personal data. These include:
Right of information
This privacy policy is written to inform you about our privacy practices.
Right of access
You can send a request to Beltug to view all the data about you stored by us or to obtain an expression of this in a readable format. When you request this information, Beltug will provide it with all necessary information such as: the processing operations, the retention period, the legal ground for processing and the recipients.
If we have a doubt about the identity of the person applying for this information, we may request additional identification.
The information will be sent to you within one month.
Right of rectification
You have the right to have any personal data about you that we process adjusted if you know or suspect that it is incorrect. Beltug will adjust this as soon as possible.
You can adjust certain information within your profile yourself via our website. For this, you must be a member of Beltug and have a login and password. Non-members can communicate changes via info@beltug.be.
Right to erasure
If you no longer wish Beltug to process your personal data, you can request (by email) that we remove this data from our files and/or databases.
However, this is not an absolute right, and you should be aware that other legislation may limit this right. For example, you cannot request deletion of data that is subject to a legally defined retention period, and this retention period has not yet been reached.
You can have all personal data from you that we process on the basis of ‘consent’ removed immediately when you withdraw your consent. This can be done with simple request by e-mail to info@beltug.be.
However, if there is an ongoing dispute, for example a lawsuit or other discussion that may have legal consequences, our interest in retaining this data is more important than your right to erasure. We cannot delete data while such activities are in progress.
Right of restriction of processing
If you do not agree with one or more of the processing activities that Beltug carries out with your data, you can invoke a restriction on that specific processing activity. This can be done with a simple request by e-mail to info@beltug.be.
Right to object
You have the right to object to any processing of your personal data for which we believe we have a legitimate interest. The processing of relevant personal data will be stopped, unless we put forward compelling and legitimate grounds for this processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or if the personal data is related to the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Right of data portability
If you want to move to another similar service, you can ask Beltug (by e-mail) to supply the data you have provided in a digital format so that you can communicate it to a similar organisation. [This only applies for personal data processed using consent or on the basis of a contract.]
Right to lodge a complaint
If you consider that our processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgium Authority: Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit (GBA), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
Right to revoke consent
At any time and without having to provide any reason or explanation, you have the right to withdraw your consent for any personal data processing by Beltug based on consent as the legal basis.
Who can you contact in case of questions regarding the policy?
If you have any questions regarding this privacy policy or the exercise of your rights in this regard, please contact our responsible data protection via info@beltug.be.
Changes to this privacy policy
Beltug reserves the right to update this privacy policy. It is therefore important that you always consult the most recent version by clicking on the link at the bottom of each webpage.
