Robustness and flexibility: can they be reconciled in one architecture?
Within our organisations, we all want our architecture to meet two seemingly contradictory needs. On the one hand, we want a robust and solid architecture we can rely on. But we also want a flexibility that will allow us to meet our customers’ service needs and adapt quickly to changing trends and requirements.
Presentations from the N-sight of 28 March 2023.

So, are these two irreconcilable, or can we find a way to deliver both? Must architectural robustness limit what service delivery teams can do? There are a lot of elements that can play a role in answering those questions. Some of the things to consider include: business-led IT, data governance, desired service delivery speed, legacy technology, and the choice between starting fresh or investing in redeveloping existing tools.
In this session, we had a look at these topics, and more: two organisations took us through their real-life user stories. First, we heard from Liantis about the challenges of developing an architecture that meets all of the requirements of a digital transformation. Then, Daikin shared their large-scale migration to SAP S/4HANA.
